Cookies and similar tech help the site work and (with your permission) help us improve and fund it. You can change choices any time via Change Privacy Settings.
How we decide what runs
- Before you choose: advertising and analytics storage are set to denied. Google’s measurement tag may load with denied consent signals, but consent-based analytics storage is not enabled.
- After you choose: analytics and advertising features may operate according to the permissions you give.
- If you reject optional processing: consent-based analytics and personalised advertising remain disabled.
- Games and younger audiences: personalised advertising will not be intentionally directed at children.
Categories we use
- Essential (always on)
- Needed to load pages, remember non-tracking preferences, keep sessions secure, prevent abuse. Examples: session state, rate-limit tokens.
- Preferences (legitimate interests)
- Stores simple, non-tracking UI choices (e.g., theme, mute). No cross-site tracking. Examples: ui_theme, game_mute.
- Analytics (optional)
- Google Analytics helps us understand page visits and feature usage. Analytics storage is denied by default and enabled only when you allow it. Google may still receive consent-status and cookieless measurement signals where its Consent Mode permits this.
- Advertising (optional where consent is required)

- Self-hosted contextual promotions: selected from the page being viewed rather than from a personal advertising profile.
- Google AdSense: may use cookies, local storage, device information and consent signals to provide, limit, measure or personalise advertising when activated.
- Personalised advertising: requires the appropriate consent and will remain disabled when that consent has not been given.

Managing your choices
Use Change Privacy Settings to review, accept, reject or adjust optional categories. You can also clear cookies and local storage through your browser.
If Google AdSense is activated, visitors in regions where Google requires it will also be shown an appropriate Google-certified consent message for Google advertising services.

Consent record & retention
We store your consent record (choices, timestamp, policy version) in your browser so we can respect it. We keep it for up to 12 months or until the policy/version changes, then we’ll ask again.

When optional consent is denied
If you reject optional processing, analytics storage and personalised advertising remain disabled. Self-hosted contextual promotions may still appear because they are based on the page rather than a personal advertising profile.
Any third-party advertising shown without personalised-ad consent will depend on the consent-compliant modes supported by the advertising provider. Non-personalised advertising may still use cookies where consent has been given for that storage.
